BCCI has announced IPL 2025 Retention Rules.
Retention rules for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season has been announced by the BCCI on 28 September 2024. The detailed rules are:
- Each franchise will have the purse of INR 120 Crores to build the squad for the ipl 2024 that is 20 Crores more than the last time.
- IPL teams can retain/RTM upto 6 players while the use of RTM or Retention is the franchise will.
- The six retentions/RTM can have maximum of 5 capped players (Indian and overseas) and a maximum of 2 uncapped [Indians] players.
- Impact Player Rule will continue till the IPL 2027 as per the IPL release just like it was in previous two seasons.
- The salary slabs for the five capped and one uncapped player will be :
- Player 1 will get 18 crores INR
- Player 2 will get 14 crores INR
- Player 3 will get 11 crores INR
- Player 4 will again get 18 crores INR
- Player 5 (if capped) will get 14 crores INR
- Uncapped player(s) will get 4 crores INR
- A player will become uncapped if :
- He has no central contract.
- He has not played international cricket from last 5 years.
- The highest bidder will have final opportunity to raise the bid of a player before the team holding RTM card can exercise RTM as per the modified RTM rules.
- Replacements of injured players can be taken up-to the 12th match of the league phase whereas it was till the 7th match until last season.
