CM Punjab announces Marriage Scheme named as “Dhi Rani Programme”.
hief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced the “Dhi Rani Programme” to help underprivileged people get married. Under this scheme, each couple will receive Rs 100,000, along with furniture, household appliances, and necessary clothing. Furthermore, this initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden associated with marriage, ensuring that every couple has the support they need to start their new life together.
This is a great initiative by CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz to announce the Marriage Scheme, especially since increasing inflation and old rituals like dowry have made marriage difficult for poor people. Moreover, the Marriage Scheme will help poor people marry and, in addition, lessen the burden on parents.
Maryam Nawaz in her speech said that
Rs 100,000 will be given as wedding money to each newly-married couple through Automated teller machine (ATM). Food will also be served to 20 people.
Application can be submit for the Dhi Rani Programme at Dhi Rani Programme. The eligibility criteria as given on official website is :
- Girls who are destitute / orphan / Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) / daughter of a PWD of ages between 18-40 years
- Applicant can be the father or mother or guardian of the bride or the bride herself
- Must be domiciled in Punjab
- If there are more applications, government will select the applicants through electronic balloting
- Affidavit regarding unmarried status and willingness to participate in the collective wedding ceremony.
